This week we are at the PIMA Air and Space Museum in Tucson, AZ. to restore a piece of American history: FREEDOM ONE. This is a Boeing VC-137B that rescued American hostages and POW’s from captivity and flew them back to the United States. The recent movie ARGO depicted the true story about how our US citizens were captured in Iran for 444 days and their eventual release. Freedom One is the actual plane that flew the hostages out of Iran on the day Ronald Reagan became President of the United States in 1981. We restore heavily faded and oxidized paint that hadn’t been touched since the mid 90’s. This was an experience of a life time and one we will never forget.
